Portrait Session on Cooper Mountain

One of the the fun parts about being a new photographer in Beaverton has been scouting for new portrait locations.  I had heard a lot of good things from my photography network about Cooper Mountain Nature Park and I just happened to need some updated photos of my own children.  So I got my kids all cleaned up, waited for my hubby to come home (because it’s WAY easier shooting my own children with his help), and off we went. Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a photographer’s dream location and has everything from grassy fields, to forested trails, to a cute red nature house.  I absolutely adore this place as a photographer, and as a mother I was totally thrilled with the resulting photos.  The hard part is going to be narrowing it down to one or two photos for our Christmas card!

And… to top it all off, there were some beautiful clouds in the sky and I just KNEW that if I hung around long enough we’d get some beautiful sunset photos.  I was right!  I let the kids play on the playground for a little bit until the sun got lower… and here’s what I got!
