Sometimes I get to do fun shoots just for ME… and this styled wedding shoot at a lovely farm and yurt vacation rental definitely is one of those times. Because who wouldn’t want to have a sweet and intimate yurt wedding? There’s nothing more “Pacific Northwest” than that! This amazing shoot was coordinated and styled by Amanda with Nature Nymph, a styling and event coordination company. She did an amazing job bringing together all the vendors to create a really beautiful shoot! Here’s some of the amazing companies that were involved:
Stationary – Sweet Sentimentality
Wood Flowers – Wanderlust Flowers
Rings – Wade and Willow
Cake – Box 42 Bakery
Wedding Gown – A&Be Bridal Shop
Venue – Thiselle Creek Farmstay
Hair & Makeup – Jovana Combs Beauty
Our models, Shelby and Dylen, are actually engaged to be married! We joked that this is a good dry run for them to get all their jitters out ahead of time! But their connection with one another made my job as a photographer easy.
At one point the weather took a turn and it started to rain quite hard. That didn’t slow down our models, and our “bride” just put a hat on her head and headed into the drizzle. The photo of them opening up the champagne is my favorite from the day. We were able to get some beautiful back light diffused by the fog pouring over the hills.
Shooting this styled yurt wedding session was a wonderful reminder to me that I need to make time for personal projects and fun shoots. It’s the creative shoots that feeds my spirit as an artist. Thanks again to Amanda with Nature Nymph for letting me join in on the fun!
