I was really looking forward to my last wedding of the year… the marriage of Becca & Socrates. I wasn’t excited because it was the final one of approximately 20 weddings this year and I was exhausted (although let’s be honest – that’s a little true). But mostly I was excited because the bride is the beautiful daughter of my dear friends, and it was the third wedding I have photographed for their family. And it just happened that Becca had recently moved to the Portland area, so how convenient for me!!! It was a spectacular celebration at the Benson Hotel. A special shout out to all the vendors that worked together to make this wedding such an amazing day:
Wedding Planning & Coordination: Events by Lisa Marie
Hair and Make-up: Austie Eckley
DJ: All Wright Music
Florist: Bloomsberry Floral
The ladies hung out in the bridal suite before the ceremony, as Becca didn’t want anyone to see her beforehand. Although we did pull some stealth moves to escort her out for a quick trip to check out the ceremony space. But the boys got out for some pre-ceremony photos. Little did they know that the ladies were watching them from the window as they were getting some photos taken…
I love the series of photos below, of my dear friends giving their daughter away. So much emotion…
After the formal portraits, we got some time to be a little creative with the bride and groom and I absolutely love how their portraits turned out. The Benson Hotel is such a cool old building, and provides such a beautiful backdrop for an indoor winter wedding. A special shout out to Lindsey of Lindsay Blair Photography for having my back as my second photographer. We had a ton of fun playing with our lights and doing some night-time photography. Having her there also allowed me to enjoy myself a bit as a guest, as my husband and children were there for the celebration.
Then it was on to the reception… toasts, dances, cake-cutting and bouquet & garter toss. The dance floor was packed and people had so much fun. It truly was a great party!
Thank you Becca and Socrates for allowing me to be a part of your special day at the Benson Hotel, as both a guest and the photographer. I can’t wait to see where life takes you guys!
