This is a picture of my mother-in-law, Shirley, taken the day before she started chemotherapy. She was the kindest woman I have ever met… with a heart full of love and a spirit full of grace. She was taken from our family too early after losing her fight against cancer. Walking alongside her through that battle changed my life forever.
Her loss also changed how I view my photography. As we sorted through old boxes of photos, it hit me how precious those pictures were. Those images were preserved memories that remind us how much love she had for her children and grandchildren. They are invaluable photos.
I want other families who are fighting cancer to have photos that they can cherish too. But most of all, I want the people in the midst of the battle to have pictures with their loved ones so that they can be reminded who they’re fighting for … so they can WIN the battle! Because of this desire, I have decided to donate a limited number of sessions every year to people fighting cancer.
