A couple of years ago I got involved with a couple of families that were embarking on an amazing adventure together. You probably remember me sharing about a family that was unable to have another baby, but were blessed by the offering of a friend to act as a surrogate for them! You can read their interview about this experience in All You magazine HERE. I got to go along on their surrogacy journey with them with my camera. Here’s a peek of their maternity session!
I was also asked to photograph the delivery. Unfortunately their baby girl was born within MINUTES of their arrival at the hospital and I missed her entry into the world. But I did get some images from the hospital afterwards!
And then of course I just HAD to photograph this sweet little girl’s newborn photos! Their family was finally complete and together at home!
And now, a couple of years later I was able to photograph their latest family photo. That sweet little baby girl has grown up and is still as smiley and full of joy as she was those very first few weeks!
And here they all are… a couple of years later. They’re still so loving and supportive of one another. It just goes to show you that it doesn’t matter how a family comes together. For some the journey to have children is long and hard and even expensive. For some having children is much easier. But there IS something special about fighting for your family and being able to reflect on the fact that the fight is over and your family is finally complete!
As for their awesome friend who acted as their surrogate? Their family story is still in process and they are pregnant again and awaiting the birth of their own little girl! My love and congratulations to their entire family!
